Intensive Care Units provide high chances of survival for critically ill patients. Patients are admitted to the ICU in case of life threatening situations like acute renal or liver failure, acute respiratory distress, cardiac failure, multiple organ failure, septic shock or coma. The nurse-patient ratio stands at 1:1 for patients on ventilators and 1:2 for other cases.The units are supervised by an inclusive team of full time senior ICU specialists with extensive training and experience in critical care medicine.
